Each week alternates between reading a Step or a Tradition, followed by group discussion focused on the reading. Join us for this one-hour, solution-oriented meeting.

• Three minutes of silent meditation followed by a member reading from A.A. literature and speaking on it for 5-10 minutes and then a discussion on the topic. This is a 60 minute speaker discussion Alcoholics Anonymous meeting held outdoors at the Carmel Beach. The chairperson shares for 15 - 20 minutes then the meeting is opened up for the discussion portion of the meeting. BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR. Look for the circle or people gathered near the State Beach parking lot. Bring your own Beach chair. Meeting is cancelled if it is raining.

In person only This is a one hour open meeting which alternates reading a Step and a Tradition each week. Each member reads a paragraph or so of the step or tradition as the book is passed along and then the meeting is open for discussion, following around the room in order.

This is a monthly birthday meeting held the last Saturday of each month. In December it may be held earlier in the month. We open with birthday medallions for members celebrating annual A.A. anniversaries, all are welcome. An A.A. speaker then shares for 40–45 minutes. Coffee is ready by 6:30 pm. Come early for fellowship and parking.

This group of A.A. attempts to maintain a tradition of free expression, and conducts a meeting where alcoholics may feel free to express any doubts or disbelief's they may have, and to share their own personal form of spiritual experience, their search for it, or their rejection of it. We do not endorse or oppose any form of religion or atheism. Our only wish is to assure suffering alcoholics that they can find sobriety in A.A. without having to accept anyone else's beliefs or having to deny their own.

This meeting adheres to standard A.A. format (either speaker or topic discussion as voted upon in the beginning of each meeting). Meeting is one hour long, with a 5 minute limit allowed for shares in order to give everyone a chance to speak.

This is a Topic Discussion meeting. Sharing is limited to 5 minutes in order to give everyone a chance to speak. The lights are dimmed after reading of A.A. literature to create a comfortable ambiance for sharing.

Meeting format is a Big Book Topic Discussion meeting. An A.A. member reads something from the book Alcoholics Anonymous and then shares their experience on the selected reading for about 10 minutes. They then suggest a topic related to the reading for the remaining discussion portion of the meeting. This is an open meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous and all members of the community are welcome to attend. The single most important aspect of recovery is the principle of one alcoholic relating to another alcoholic, therefore only alcoholics participate in the meeting.

Sunday Night Big Book is a one-hour, open meeting at St. James (first floor). Each week, we read aloud (round-robin style) for ten minutes, then hold an open discussion on what we have read. We read the Big Book from prefaces through Dr. Bob's Story; when we have done, we start again, finding fresh information and inspiration at each pass. Join us as we read the Daily Reflections and go around the room to give everyone an opportunity to share. Our group subscribes to A.A.'s Statement of Responsibility... "I am responsible. When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of A.A. always to be there. ➤ In-person meeting at St. James Episcopal Church in Monterey (corner of Franklin & High Streets). The Sunrise Group of Alcoholics Anonymous meets daily at 6:45 AM and Saturday at 7:30 AM. Six days a week the meeting is led by a different secretary who chooses a discussion topic based on A.A. approved literature of their choice. The meeting uses a round the horn format for sharing.
